VW T6 Transporter Engines
Upon its launch, the engine lineup of the Volkswagen Transporter T6 closely mirrored that of its predecessor, the T5 (2010 – 2016), maintaining continuity while laying the groundwork for future advancements. However, Volkswagen swiftly responded to evolving environmental standards and consumer demands by introducing a new generation of cleaner, more efficient engines. Among these updates were the introduction of the 110 kW (150 PS) TDi and 150 kW (204 PS) BiTDi diesel engines, heralding a new era of performance and sustainability. With a keen focus on meeting stringent Euro6 emissions standards, Volkswagen ensured that all engines in the T6 lineup were compliant, aligning with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and environmental impact. As the automotive industry embarked on a gradual transition away from diesel engines, Volkswagen demonstrated its forward-thinking approach by introducing the new 2.0 TFSi engine to the Transporter lineup towards the end of 2017. This strategic move reflected Volkswagen’s commitment to innovation and adaptability, offering customers a diverse range of engine options to suit their preferences and evolving needs. By embracing cleaner technologies and embracing industry trends, the Volkswagen Transporter T6 reaffirmed its position as a leader in the commercial vehicle market, delivering both performance and environmental responsibility in equal measure.
