From August 1965 Volkswagens were fitted with a more powerful 1300cc engine. This was used as a better alternative to the 1200cc. This 1300cc engine was used until the end of production of the 1303 sedan and July 1975.
During these 10 years there were many engines produced in both Single Port and Twin Port inlet systems. Many of the 1300cc Twin Port models suffered from cracks in the cylinder heads between the inlet and exhaust valves and the spark plug hole. The demand in these cylinder heads has increased due to this fault and up until now a brand new 1300cc twin port cylinder head is not produced. Only reconditioned versions are available.
Together with other VW engineers BBT has found a good solution to the problem.
With these rings it is possible to fit a brand new 1600cc cylinder head onto your 1300cc barrel without any other modification.
The rings are placed on the outside of the 1300cc barrel and allow you to bolt on a brand new 1600cc cylinder head without any gaps.
The rings are manufactured in aluminium to avoid the difference in dilatation in relation to the cylinder heads.
They are 12.10mm wide so to give you the correct depth of the cylinder heads.
For each engine you will require 4 rings and they are sold separately.
