Hard Start Relay - 12 Volt

Helps revive older wiring system problems by bypassing the current load through the ignition switch which robs the power to the starter motor. Simple to install and supplied with fitting instructions.

Equivalent to the Bosch WR1 relay.

Hard Start Relay Instructions

You may want to determine the mounting location and cut and crimp connectors onto the appropriate wires before mounting the relay to the car.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Choose a mounting location close to the starter for the relay

3. Connect Wires as follows

• 87 – Red to spade terminal on Starter Solenoid
• 87A – is not used
• 86 – Blue Ground
• 85 – BROWN to Starter Solenoid Red/Black Wire (Ignition Switch)
• 30 – Yellow to battery + on starter solenoid

4. Inspect all wires and connections. Tie lose wires with wire ties and use heat-shrink tubing or tape on all exposed wire and/or connectors.

5. Re-install negative battery cable and check for proper activation upon starting car.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Check your transmission to body ground strap.  This grounds the engine and transmission to the chassis and is very important to your cars electrical system.
