In August 1970 VW upgraded the front brakes on all Baywindow Buses from Drum Brakes to Disc Brakes. By doing this they also changed the wheel design and the PCD.
These wheels now had a smaller stud pattern of a PCD of 112mm. Commonly know as small 5 stud.
The first design of these brakes had a small narrow brake caliper. In July 1972 they changed the design of the brake caliper, disc and brake pads which were increased in size to achieve greater braking effiency.
These replacement brake pads are for the thicker style brake calipers that run from August 1972 through to July 1979. They are easily identified as they use a 14mm bolt to hold the caliper onto the spindle and not a 12mm bolt which was used on the earlier models.
These pads continued to be used on the next generation of VW Bus, The Type 25 or Wedge as it is commonly know.
They were used in the Type 25 Bus from the start of production until July 1985.
Sold in a set of 4 brake pads to replace the pads in both front calipers.
55mm pad gap.
