I have a Karmann Ghia 1971 model but it has been converted to an EMPI lever with the pull up ring for reverse. I would like to change it back to the original stick but with a short shift converter. Is this an easy job to do working in the street? and would this kit be suitable with the short shift used in the EMPI unit? Thanks Bryan

Yes this kit can be used with a quick shift plate. Changing over is very simple and can be done as a DIY project. It just requires a 13mm spanner and a bit of grease.

Hello, I wonder if you could tell me why my standard shifter keeps turning in the socket. It has the small ball bearing, but there's nothing to stop it from turning in the actual cup of the linkage.

It sounds like you are possibly missing the pin which goes in the ball socket. You will find it on our website HERE.
