Beetle Master Cylinder - 1966-67 Single Circuit - FTE

Replacement FTE brake master cylinder originally fitted to all 1300cc Beetles from August 1965 to July 1967 and all 1200cc Beetles from August 1965 to July 1969

• Not supplied with brake light switch

Tips: If you are changing you master cylinder, some or all of the brake pipes may need to be re-routed. This is due to the port layout being different on the new master cylinder. When planning your brake line routing, be sure to fit the brake switch `below` the master cylinder centre line. Otherwise air can be trapped in the system which will make it difficult to bleed the brakes.

It is also VERY important that the end play of the brake pedal pushrod is adjusted correctly. Follow the factory specifications of 1mm endplay. The pushrod can be adjusted using the thread and lock-nut on the pushrod shaft. For some applications you may have to cut the pushrod down in length.
