Type 1 Engine Thermostat

Aftermarket air flap thermostat for use on all 1200cc to 1600cc upright VW aircooled engines

This thermostat differs from the original in looks but works just the same.  It connects at the bottom of the engine to the air flaps in the bottom of the fanshroud via a rod

As the engine heats up the thermostat expands which opens the flaps allowing the cold air to cool the engine 

Quality: Reproduction

Fitting: Modification to your existing thermostat bracket will be required by drilling a hole to stop the thermostat from rotating, for this type of thermostat to fully open, please check before fitting
